27-03-2026 We have made some progress. One of the major things done is get access to a TU Delft virtual server using the url https://jboss.tudelft.nl. We will move our main page to there to comply to FAIR principles and to make it more accessible for everyone.

13-03-2026 We got our first master student willing to jump into the project and try building their thesis with Jupyter Book. We are very excited to see how he will experience the process and what feedback we will get.

07-03-2026 We created an automated errorlog report when building a pdf. We use GitHub actions to check whether there are anu errors, and if so, put them in a markdown file and report them only on the website.

02-03-2026 We have updated the page-last-update plugin so that the date aligns with the British way of writing, is excluded in pdf export and can be turned off at the specific pages (like the landing page).

23-02-2026 Today was an exciting day! In the morning Maciej Topyla showed his awesome Typst thesis template. He has made great progress and it is looking awesome. He has made effort in creating a considerate architecture for the template, which will make it easy to maintain and extend. During lunch I showed our project and the possibility to the Applied Science Education Innovation team. They were enthusiastic about the possibilities for both education and science.

03-02-2026 We made major progress with our Typst template. The cover page has significantly improved.

02-02-2026 We did a live demo of the starterkit during the official TU Delft kickoff of Open Science funded projects. With a few clicks a new repo was live, demonstrating how easy it is to get started with our tools.

31-01-2026 A milestone again: we developed a starterkit. This is a template repository that can be cloned with a few clicks. It then automatically creates a GitHub website and builds two different pdf’s from your content with every new submission to your repository. This lowers the technical barrier significantly!

29-01-2026 We did an official kick-off meeting with the team. Due to illness, holidays and general busy schedules, not everyone could be there, but we had a good start.

23-12-2025 Our first product has reached a milestone: the LaTeX template for thesis has reached a stage where it can be tested! It has been based on the template earlier developed by Luuk Fröling for his bachelor thesis.

17-11-2025 We have got word that our proposal for the Open Science Fund has been accepted! We will officially start in January but will already start preparing.

11-09-2025 We submitted our proposal Connecting and boosting open science and open education through JB2 to the TU Delft Mainstreaming Open Science Fund.
